Composed of 2,400 powder coated mild steel tubes and 37.5 meters tall, the sculpture titled Rise was erected in 2011 representing a “new dawn” for Belfast, Ireland. Created by artist Wolfgang Buttress, Rise is the tallest piece of public art in northern Ireland. It is comprised of two spheres, one encased within the other, as a symbolic representation of a rising sun and hope.
