“By racking the focus and using a shallow depth of field, you can achieve some in camera special effects while photographing fireworks.” – artist, Tom Payer
Fine art photographer Tom Payer has lived in Alaska for over 30 years, living a simple but enriched life. He writes: “Life in a small, remote cabin, hunting and trapping, hauling water and heating our home with the wood we cut. A dog team provided us with winter transportation and a means to haul supplies. Living by modest means brings you closer to the land and gives you a greater insight into why we live in Alaska.”
Most of his photographs attempt to capture the spirit of Alaska and its inhabitants. His love for his country, its history, land and heritage is evident in his photography.
