Flex is a sheet of hardened steel. Its particular "fabric effect" finish makes it look soft and silky. Its form moves continuously thanks to the particular technical characteristics of the steel used, and many different uses and applicable shapes can be obtained just by varying the arrangement of the connecting screws:  oval or flame-shaped. If necessary it can also be transformed into an unusual seat. Single modular sheet in three different shapes. Flex can become a holder for firewood, a magazine rack...

Brian Fireman earned his BS in Geology and MA in Architecture from Virginia Tech. He has spent much time traveling and kayaking around the world from Ecuador to Nepal. During is masters program, he worked his summers building and raising hand-cut timber frame structures where he learned the diverse traditions of woodworking and joinery. After school, while working for a high-end residential architecture firm, it became clear to Brian Fireman that he missed the truly hands-on approach to both designing and building, and in 2003 Brian Fireman Design was founded.

Brian Fireman works from his studio in the mountains of western North Carolina. Brian Fireman Design creates furniture that will last generations, increase in value, and enrich the lives of those who live with the work.

All work is made to order, and the careful selection of material is sourced locally and sustainably from the forests of western North Carolina.

There is an 8 to 12 week lead-time until shipment.

Zerino

Zerino is unobtrusive to the eye and useful when needed. Thin and graceful, it cleverly fits the strategic points of the house by adapting to different environments, with personality but without intrusiveness. Its content tells stories that are always different, from the magic of fire to the pleasure of reading.

Zerino is a table composed of two steel discs with a space in the centre for a storage compartment. It can be used as a table, to hold magazines or books and, with the special bioethanol fire kit, it offers a focal point. For internal and external use, with "fabric effect" finish for a soft and silky appearance.
